Reports
BAETS owns and manages the UK Registry of Endocrine and Thyroid Surgery (UKRETS) which is an electronic audit of endocrine operations performed in the UK. The audit is run by Dendrite Systems.
Participating in the UKRETS is considered an obligatory requirement for BAETS Full Members. It is also a requirement of the Health Quality Improvement Partnership that all thyroid operations are entered onto UKRETS as thyroid surgery has been chosen by the Chief Medical Officer to be one of 13 specialties where consultant level outcomes should be openly available for public viewing.
Access to UKRETS is granted on Full Membership of BAETS. Once membership is confirmed details regarding access to UKRETS will be forwarded electronically. Surgeons can then access the registry to enter details of all endocrine operations. The results from the registry are published openly via the Surgeon Specific Outcomes Report for Endocrine Surgery.

Access to Data from the BAETS National Database of Endocrine & Thyroid Procedures
BAETS wishes to support colleagues who request access to some data fields from the national database for the purposes of audit or research.
Application Forms for access should be emailed to info@baets.org.uk. The application form may be signed electronically or, if this is not possible, the lead applicant must state explicitly, in their submission email, that they have read and accepted the conditions for access as indicated on the application form.
Applications will be judged on their scientific merit and may be sent to external referees for review. The decision of the BAETS executive will be final and not subject to negotiation. BAETS expect that no more than 1 or 2 applications will be successful in any one calendar year.
There are 2 deadlines for submission each year:
Applications received by 31 August will receive a response by 31 October.
Applications received by 31 January will receive a response by 31 March.
